I couldn't make this up if I tried

I was driving to work the other day and I was at a corner in downtown Denver where homeless people hang around and ask for money. (When I had just moved here I could not get over the elaborate signs they made asking for money. In Chicago you'd see a sign that says "Homeless. Please help" while in Denver you see signs that are filled with elaborate, verbose excuses and reasons why you should give them money. It's so weird.) So, anyway, there was a guy sitting in a wheelchair on the corner asking for money. The driver of a van sitting at the light leaned out of his window to offer some money. Wheelchair Guy kind of pushed himself forward in his chair to take the money and HIS LEG FELL OFF.
